Our mission is to ensure that no family has to navigate this journey alone. We make speech, language, and communication support more accessible through education, community, advocacy, research, and partnerships with therapists, educators, schools, and nonprofit organizations.
History
Our Story
Polariz Foundation was born from our own family's journey.
My husband Jay and I both spent our careers building technology, but our lives changed forever when our son was diagnosed with autism. Overnight, we found ourselves entering a world we knew very little about.
Like so many families, we had to start from the beginning. We learned what autism was, how speech and language develop, and what therapies our son needed. We navigated months of waiting for evaluations, searched for qualified therapy providers, learned about IEPs and school services, and discovered just how difficult it could be to access the support our child needed. Every answer seemed to uncover even more questions.
As parents, we learned alongside our son. We came to understand that something as simple as saying "ba" was anything but simple. It required countless developmental milestones—from listening and attention to imitation, motor planning, social interaction, and communication. We celebrated every new sound and every new word, but we also experienced periods of regression that left us searching for answers and wondering what to do next.
Every day became a journey of learning, advocating, and hoping. We fought to schedule evaluations, secure therapies, find the right schools, and understand how we could continue helping our son beyond the few hours he spent in therapy each week. Along the way, we met incredible therapists, educators, and families, but we also realized how overwhelming and isolating this journey could be.
We realized that families need more than therapy appointments. They need knowledge, guidance, community, and practical resources that empower them every day. They need support not only during therapy sessions, but throughout their child's entire journey.
That realization inspired the Polariz Foundation.
